We are incredibly proud that two of our staff members received awards from the New Jersey Library Association this year!

Lisa Jenkins, a librarian in our Youth Services Department, received an Innovative Program award for “Makers of History,” a monthly series where students in grades K-5 engage in STEM activities inspired by notable figures in the field. In these interactive sessions, children learn about famous trailblazers and make their own creations based upon those figures’ work. For the March session of “Makers of History,” attendees will learn about Sarah E. Goode, inventor of the cabinet bed, and explore how we use hinges in our everyday lives. Meanwhile, Ragini Lall, the new Head of our Adult Services & Acquisitions Department, received the NJLA’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award for organizing our 2025 Special Needs Resource Fair. Thanks to Ragini’s phenomenal work, this event connected hundreds of individuals with special needs and their families to valuable resources, services, and opportunities in the community. Participating organizations included the Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities, ARC of Essex County, and the National Council on Severe Autism.
