The Livingston Public Library’s Youth Services Department is excited to announce our 3rd annual Winter Reading Challenge for children in grade 5 and under!  Our Winter Reading Challenge bingo game is a way for parents and caregivers to engage in meaningful activities with their young ones during the coldest months of the year and can encourage children to be excited about reading as they work towards their goal.

Participation in the Winter Reading Challenge is fun and easy – pick up your bingo board at the Youth Services Desk or print it from this post.  As you read and complete activities, mark off the squares.  Some of the cozy winter themed activities include “Read under a blanket,”  “Write a poem about winter,” and “Read about baking or cooking.”

Complete one line down, across, or diagonally to win a prize; complete the entire board to be entered into a raffle to win a grand prize!  The challenge ends on February 16th and prize winners will be announced later that month.

Happy Reading!

~Gina Vaccaro, Head of Youth Services
