Toddlers and their caregivers had a wonderful time at the Winter Play & Learn Program on Tuesday, January 31. Activity stations designed for toddlers to strengthen their motor skills were set up around the room to explore while socializing with other children.

Toddlers loved being able to move around the different activities at their own pace. At the “Animal Search” station, caregivers encouraged their toddlers as they searched through the tub of “snow” (packing peanuts) to find the hidden animal toys. As each toy was found, one parent asked her toddler what noise the animal made. One child especially loved the “Snow Scooping” station, where she used an ice cream scoop in a tub of “snow” (cotton balls and fiber fill) and figured out how to get the snow un-stuck from her scoop. The “Ski Slope” station was also busy as toddlers took turns helping Elsa and friends slide down the ramp. The two most popular stations were “Feed the Snowman,” where toddlers fed styrofoam snowballs into a hungry snowman’s mouth, and “Building Blocks” with giant cereal box blocks featuring different animals, letters, and numbers. The program wrapped up with a musical bubble parade.
