Sanskriti Indian School is the educational wing of Sanskriti of New Jersey. The school takes pride in providing a nurturing, secular and fun environment for children and young adults to learn and appreciate the diverse cultures, heritage and values of India.
Culture has always been a very integral part of Sanskriti School curriculum. Each year its dedicated volunteers focus the culture curriculum on the year’s chosen theme which encompasses different topics like Dances of India, Food and Festivals of India, and Monuments of India, to mention a few.
This year the school’s culture curriculum is focusing on learning about Indian Cinema : its evolution and place in Indian culture. Topics that will be covered include- evolution of cinema over the past century, actors, music, artists behind the scenes, and more.
Art and craft projects go hand in hand with the culture curriculum and currently exhibited in the Library’s display case are selections of art work done by students this year and in past years. On display are some handmade crafts showcasing various Indian artforms, and film related artifacts such as clapboards and collages of movie posters.
The exhibit can be viewed during library hours for the month of February.
