We enjoyed some truly wonderful adult events this November. Below is a quick recap of what took place at the Library this month. 

We celebrated Native American Heritage Month this November, with the lecture First People: The NJ Connection. We also enjoyed author talks through the Library Speaker’s Consortium including Native Rights and Culture in Fiction–A Conversation with Mona Susan Power and A Navajo Investigator’s Search for the Unexplained: In Conversation with Stanley Milford, Jr.

We also got ready for Thanksgiving with virtual cooking demos with Library Chef, including Mashed or Whipped: Perfect Those Potatoes, Homemade Apple Cranberry Sauce, and Thanksgiving Leftovers. We also enjoyed the in-person workshops Building a Positive Mindset Through Gratitude and Eating Healthy Over the Holidays. Those interested in working on their overall wellness also joined us for an all-levels Adult Yoga Workshop! 

We also celebrated Veterans Day this month with the lecture Hollywood and the Airforce in WWII.

Those looking to explore their creative side joined us for our librarian-led Crafternoon and Crafterwork creative arts events. 

We embraced life-long learning at the lectures Basics of Cryptocurrency and  Colonial Taverns of NJ. We also had fun playing games, which included our special Murder Mystery and afternoon Bingo events. 

We wouldn’t be a library without books! We also enjoyed many book clubs this month including: Bookish Vibes: Book Club and Author Visit with Tracey Enerson Wood, Thrilling Tales, Let’s Talk About Books, Cookbook Club, Crime Time. Adults also joined us for the virtual author talk On Childhood Migration from Central America–In Conversation with Javier Zamora with the Library Speaker’s Consortium. 

Those looking to enjoy a film in the Library’s program room joined us for a Thursday Matinee screening of DiDi, a Tuesday Night Movie screening of It Ends with Us, and a special Weekend Movie screening.

And last but not least, our seniors enjoyed our monthly Senior Happening where Fred Miller presented “Lecture-in-Song Ethel Merman.”
