The Livingston Public Library had some wonderful adult programs take place this November both in-person and virtually! Here’s a recap of what happened at the #LtownLibrary this month.

We got crafty with some fun creative arts programs. Adults enjoyed our in-person Drop-in Crafternoon and Color your Stress Away crafting events as well as our Pinterest Inspired Adult crafting: Button Snowflake program.

We also enjoyed the virtual lecture Tempestuous Beauty: How Artists Throughout History Were Inspired by Flowers and Gardens, where art lecturer Janet Mandel introduced us to an array of astonishing images from throughout art history, some iconic and some unfamiliar, reminding us why flowers and gardens give us hope, nourish our souls, and elicit pleasure and happiness. 

We also enjoyed the in-person lecture on Stephen Sondheim, where entertainment historian John Kenrick pulled back the curtain on Sondheim’s life and career. 

 Those looking forward to the yummy foods to be had during the holidays enjoyed Cheese 101: Getting to Know Cheese, presented by cheese specialist and educator, Carla Graifer, Eating Healthy Through the Holidays presented by Jennifer Shukaitis, MPH, faculty member in The Department of Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) a part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension), and Holiday Cocktails presented by Tammy Coxen, professional cocktail enthusiast and the Chief Tasting Officer of Tammy’s Tastings!  

Those looking to step out of the crisp fall air and experience a performance enjoyed our Classic Movie Tuesday screening of Marjane Satrapi’s 2007 classic “Persepolis,” and a lively and engaging Senior Happening performance by Fred Miller. 

And of course, we also enjoyed our many monthly book club meetings this month, including: Bookish Vibes, Let’s Talk About Books, Crime Time, and Unstuck in Time.
