Here at the Livingston Public Library, one of our goals is to help to promote literacy, but literacy isn’t always limited to the content we consume through reading.

On Wednesday, December 4 at 6:00 PM, we invite parents and teens to join us for a presentation on Moral Literacy (Anti-Bullying) as presented by Dr. Tyree Oredein.  This program will facilitate and engage parents and young people in conversations centered around peer relationships and respect.  Dr. Oredein will guide attendees through exploring how instances of bullying, harassment and intimidation are often linked to race, ethnicity, religion, body shape, political views, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and learning style.

At the end of this presentation, we hope that attendees have a renewed empathy and respect for their peers, and that through an increase in moral literacy there will be a decrease in incidents of harassment, intimidation, and bullying in both schools and community settings.  Together, we can be the difference we want to see in our community.
