There is nothing better than seeing the eyes of little ones light up when they discover the many adventures reading takes them on. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the addition of Launchpads and Wonder Books to our Youth Services collection. Wonder Books and Launchpads are  pre-loaded devices that allow your little reader to enjoy the act of reading while they listen along to the story, as well as enjoy educational games and videos to inspire interactive learning. 

Wonder Books look like your average book, except with audio content that allows your young reader to listen along while they turn the pages.  With options to continue on, pause, and go back, these books will help young readers become more confident in their independent reading abilities.

Launchpads are tablet sized devices that display content such as educational videos, interactive learning games, and more.  These devices are perfect for on-the-go (no wifi needed) and at home interactive learning! They are also available for use while in the Library, find them at the Youth Services Desk.

Some Wonder Book titles we have available to borrow include: The Wild Robot, The Wild Robot Escapes, The Magic Misfits, The Magic Misfits Second Story, The Truth According to Blue, Two Dogs in a Trench Coat Go on a Class Trip, and Baseball Saved Us.

The Launchpad Pre-K Academy collection includes many different Language & Literacy games to build vocabulary, identify & recite letters and to help develop interest in stories. The Social & Emotional games help preschoolers organize thoughts, express emotions & needs, understand cooperation, explore independence, and more!
