Message from the Director: Senior Happening is Happening!

Livingston Library Community,

One of the many joys experienced at the Livingston Public Library is the ability to connect Library patrons with musical entertainment. We are extremely excited to kick-off the 2022 monthly Senior Happening series with a virtual performance of “Jewish Composers on Broadway” by Susan Speidel and accompanist Joe Reagan on Friday, January 21st at 1pm.

During this month’s Senior Happening you’ll be able to join us for a live performance from the comfort of your own homes through Zoom for a musical hour exploring Jewish composers such as Irving Berlin, Jerry Herman, George Gershwin, and Stephen Sondheim, who have played a unique role in the development of the American Musical Theater. This performance will also feature tunes such as Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Fascinating Rhythm, and Sunrise, Sunset, along with lesser-known songs from shows like The Rothschilds, Milk and Honey, and The Grand Tour.

Registration is required for Senior Happening and may be done so either on the Library’s website or by calling 973-992-4600. Information on how to access the Zoom event will be emailed to registered attendees at 12pm on Friday, January 21st.  Unable to make the live Zoom event? A recording of the show will be available to view at your leisure following the event.

We can’t wait to see you at this live Zoom performance!

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director
