We love nothing more than connecting books with readers! If one of your goals for the new year is to broaden your reading repertoire, you’re in luck! The Library has many book clubs meeting in the new year and digital resources to take your reading experience to the next level.
Bookish Vibes: Book Club and Author Visit with Karen White
Do you enjoy reading trending titles by popular authors? If so, our Bookish Vibes Book Club is for you! This month we will be meeting on Wednesday, January 8th at 7 pm on Zoom to discuss “The Last Night in London” by Karen White. The best part? Karen White will be zooming in with us! Registration is required for Bookish Vibes. An email with the Zoom information will be sent to those registered the day before the event.
Those who enjoy reading mysteries and novels with a mysterious element might find our Thrilling Tales book club to be of interest. Thrilling Tales meets in-person in the Library’s technology room. On Monday, January 13th at 11 am we will be discussing “The Three Lives of Alix St. Pierre” by Natasha Lester. Registration is not required for Thrilling Tales and all are welcome to attend.
Readers looking for a more structured book discussion might find Let’s Talk About Books to be a good fit. This month, we will be discussing “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride on Friday, January 10th at 12:30 pm. Let’s Talk About Books meets on Zoom, and registration is required. An email with the Zoom information will be sent to those registered the day before the event.
Are true crime titles more your thing? Crime Time is a true crime and crime adjacent virtual book club where readers explore everything from historical crime to unsolved mysteries. Crime Time will be meeting on Monday, January 13th at 7 pm, and will be discussing “The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World’s Largest Unsolved Art Theft” by Ulrich Boser. Crime Time meets on Zoom, and registration is required. An email with the Zoom information will be sent to those registered the day before the event.
Are you looking for a book club where you can share recipes and scrumptious treats? Our Cookbook Club is the perfect book club for you! Cookbook Club meets on Wednesday, January 22nd at 7 pm, where we will discuss and share recipes from “Hot Sheet” by Olga Massov & Sanaë Lemoine. You can learn more about how to participate here.
