Message From the Director: Livi Cares: An Adult Volunteer Club

“The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves.” — Helen Keller

Livingston Library Community,

The Livingston Public Library has been pleased to continue its third year of the Livi Cares Adult Volunteer Club.  Beginning on July 1st and continuing throughout the month of July, patrons have been welcome to drop-in to the library to receive supplies needed to write handwritten letters that will be sent to Seniors in need of a smile through the organization Letters Against Isolation

Letters can be completed in person at the library or supplies can be brought home to be completed at one’s leisure.  Letters are currently being collected at the Reference Desk, where they will then be sent to the organization, and will continue to be collected until July 31st. So far we have collected over 105 letters!

Be sure to stop by the library before the end of the month to write your letters. This small act is sure to make someone’s day a little bit brighter.

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director

Letters Against Isolation partners with nursing homes and long term care facilities to send letters to seniors. You can learn more about their organization at: https://www.lettersagainstisolation.com/
