Livingston Library Community,

It is with great honor that I share that one of our librarians, Joe O’Brien has been named one of Library Journal’s Movers and Shakers for 2025– a well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions to our Library.  

Joe is a gifted storyteller who brings our community to life through the Library’s Ltown Radio Podcast. On the podcast, Joe has interviewed a variety of community voices including Livingston’s mayor, a local poet, and Board of Education members amongst many other town figures. In the May episode, Joe interviews Dave Gebroe of the Discograffiti podcast about growing up in Livingston, about the rough road he traveled between directing films and producing podcasts. In addition to the Ltown Radio Podcast, Joe curates mini magazines called “zines,” which you can find at the reference desk. These “zines” shed light on Livingston’s rich history and have featured prominent residents such as the nurse Clara Maass, molecular engineer Roger Y. Tsien, and the legend of the Riker Hill Witch, among many others. 

Joe’s creativity and dedication to our community are a true asset to our Library. It is a true honor to have them on our team. Please join me in congratulating Joe!
