Livingston Library Community,

Did you know that the Livingston Public Library has both a physical and digital local history collection? We invite you to drop-in to the Library’s Local History Room between 7pm – 8pm  on Tuesday, December 5th to explore our physical archives including photographs, newspaper clippings of local interest, and more. Computers will also be available for you to explore the digital local history archive. Librarians will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the collection. 

The digital local history archive can be accessed through the Library’s website. Here you will find digitized copies of the West Essex Tribune from 1929 – 2014, Livingston High School Yearbooks from 1957 – 2022, photographs, books, and recently added oral history recordings  and video footage. 

Audio recordings include Livingston’s Bicentennial concert and interviews with local residents such as Julius Bernstein and Vincent Hamilton. Newly added video recordings include a tour of the Library from the 1970s (see Master Tape No. 11_15) and A Walk Through Livingston’s Past, and many more!
