Message from the Director: Discover the Hidden Treasures of the Hudson Valley

Livingston Library Community,

You may already know that New York’s Hudson Valley is home to numerous historical destinations such as the Vanderbilt mansion and Franklin D. Roosevelt’s home, attracting many tourists yearly. Did you also know that it is home to relatively unknown but equally important historical sites?

We invite you to join us on Monday, July 1st at 7pm for the lecture Hidden Treasures of the Hudson Valley, a unique opportunity to delve into these sites that exist primarily under the radar. Historical landmarks to be discovered include a Fishkill homestead established by Cornelius Van Wyck in 1732 that was commandeered by General George Washington, the only domed building in the world which was built in 1859 and featured in a Beatles music video, the oldest Jewish home in North America, amongst many other fascinating spots.

We hope to see you at the library for this event!

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director
