True crime is one of the most popular genres at the library and it shows no signs of slowing down. Have you ever wondered what the handwriting of a murderer looks like? Did you know that various characteristics in penmanship can explain various personality traits and perhaps even “killer” tendencies? 

Those interested in penmanship and true crime are invited to join us on Monday, May 20th at 7 pm for the lecture Criminal Minds: Killer Handwriting, where handwriting expert, Terry Antoniewicz, will explore high-profile criminal cases using the handwriting specimens of Jack the Ripper, the American Jack the Ripper,  Ted Kaczynski, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Son of Sam.  During this lecture, we will dive deep into the letter size, slant, and pressure of the handwriting, as well as the driving psychological forces behind their horrific crimes. Registration is not required for this event and all are welcome to attend. 

Those interested in true crime may also enjoy the Library’s Crime Time book club. The June Crime Time meeting will be held on Monday, June 17 at 7pm through Zoom. Participants will be reading and discussing Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou. You can learn more about and register for this event, here.
