Livingston Library Community,

“Adventure Begins at Your Library” and so does summer fun! We invite you to join us on Monday, June 24th at 6:00 PM outside at the Livingston Gazebo for our 2024 Summer Learning Challenge Kickoff event!

We have so many exciting activities planned including a welcome from Mayor Al Anthony, “Sunshine and Good Times Super Summer Family Concert” performed by Ron Albanese, Face Painting by Melan Productions, lawn games such as giant-sized chess and Connect 4, library card signups, and of course, Summer Learning Program information for all ages children through adult. We encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy the evening.

Children grades 5 and under can join our Youth Summer Learning Challenge. To participate, children simply pick up their “Passport to Adventure” at the Kickoff Event, or at the Youth Services Desk during open hours on June 25th or after. With the passport, children can read, and complete self, family/friend, community and world adventures to earn prizes, registration is not required!

Teens in grades 6 and up can join the Teen Summer Learning Challenge! All you need is your “Teen Passport” to complete challenges, track your reading, and earn prizes. New this year: teens can add their favorite songs of the summer to our Teen Summer Playlist on Spotify and create memories with our Summer Snapshots journal program.

Adults can also join in on the fun! Starting on June 24th, adults can stop by the Patron Services desk to pick up their own Adult Summer Reading passport and some fun prizes for joining the challenge! Each adult book checked out or activity completed on the passport earns adults a raffle ticket toward our weekly prize drawings!

We hope you are as excited for this summer as we are!

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director
