March 2025 Adult Programming Wrap Up

March 2025 Adult Programming Wrap Up

March was filled with some wonderful events for adults. Below is a quick recap of what took place at the Livingston Library this month.

The library was excited to host local author Jane Fischer for the event If You Knew Suzy: An Author Talk with Jane Fischer. We also enjoyed virtual author talk events with the Library Speakers Consortium such as Power of Reset and How to Change What’s Not Working with Author Dan Heath, How Women’s Liberation Transformed America: In Conversation with Clara Bingham, and Dreams We Chase: An Author Talk with Novelist Jennifer Weiner.

Those looking to get started with spring gardening enjoyed our Seed Library Kickoff. Seeds are available in the card catalog across from the Adult Services Desk. Gardeners also enjoyed the workshop Deer Resistant Gardening with Native Plants. Those who enjoy backyard bird watching in their gardens also gained valuable insight during the lecture Bird Feeding Blunders: What to Avoid in Your Backyard.

Those looking to get started on spring cleaning enjoyed the workshops Possessed by Possessions: The Gentle Art of Decluttering and Downsizing Heirlooms and Collectibles

March marks Women’s History Month. To celebrate this month adults enjoyed the lectures Exploring the Stories of Unexpected and Uncelebrated First Ladies and The Business of Beauty: Helena Rubenstein, Elizabeth Arden & Estee Lauder.

Those looking to explore their creative sides joined us for the Adult Art Workshop: Make a Shabby Chic Fabric Wreath and our librarian-led Crafterwork and Crafternoon. We also hosted a Short Story Writing Workshop for those who enjoy expressing their creativity through the written word.

March is also National Nutrition Month. This month we enjoyed the virtual cooking demonstrations Savvy Superfoods: The Chia Seed, Nutrition Month: Food Myths in Cooking, and Let’s Make Corned Beef Hash with Library Chef.

Those looking to enhance and learn more about their health joined us for our monthly all-levels Adult Yoga Workshop and the health lecture Pain Management and Alternative Therapies

Those looking to enjoy a film in the Library’s program room joined us for our Tuesday Night Movie and Thursday Matinee film screenings.

Senior enjoyed our March Senior Happening where Fred Miller presented “Lecture-in-Song When Oscar was King!” And music lovers of all ages enjoyed our Music Matters Concert where Luba Vasilyeva performed.

Those looking for an afternoon of friendly competition joined us for a special birthday themed Bingo, celebrating the Friends of the Library’s 65 years.

We also enjoyed our monthly book clubs including: Bookish Vibes book club and author Visit with Lynda Rutledge, Thrilling Tales, Crime Time, Cookbook Club, and Let’s Talk About Books

Be sure to visit our events calendar to save the date for all of the wonderful events we have planned for April. We hope to see you at the Library soon!
