Make Your Own Face Masks

Did you know that in addition to keeping 6 feet social distancing, the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) also recommends people wear face masks? Per their website, “In light of (…) new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.” This is because  “a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.”

A full PDF is available for download below outlining exactly how to make face masks with materials found around your home. Minimum sewing is involved. You can access the PDF, here: DIY-cloth-face-covering-instructions

You can also follow along with this video made by the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Jerome Adams.
