Livi Writes: Journaling Workshop

Are you interested in getting started with journaling? Journaling is a powerful tool for both self-awareness and reflection, which can improve not only our mental states but also our writing.  If you’re interested in learning about how you can get started with journaling, join the Livingston Public Library for a workshop on Zoom Thursday, April 22nd at 7pm, where local writer Hope Atlas will be guiding us through the process.

This program is part of the Livi Writes programming series. During this workshop, participants will be given writing prompts along with 5-8 minutes to free write. Following the free write session, participants will freely choose to share their writing in the forms of discussion and reading in an accepting environment.

Hope Atlas is the author of My Upside Down World, which was published in May of 2020. Holding a master’s degree in reading education from Syracuse University, Hope has worked for 31 years in literacy programs with children and adults. For many years, she also served as a bereavement volunteer, and most recently, she has been involved in community outreach programs. Her writing and poetry have been published in multiple online journals.

Registration is required for this event and can be done so on the Library’s event calendar, here. An email with information on how to access the Zoom presentation will be emailed to you the day before the program.

If you’re super excited and can’t wait to get started writing, you can also check out these books available through the Library’s digital collections

Hope to see you at this workshop!
