Summer is in full swing here at the Livingston Library! This month we enjoyed a wide range of adult events for all interests. 

We celebrated the 4th of July with a special Reading of the Declaration of Independence. Adults also enjoyed the travel lecture Exploring the East: Discover the Beauty of Japan and Mongolia from the comfort of the library’s program room.

Adults joined a special Pop-up: Social Hour in the Library’s program room where they played games, socialized, and enjoyed light refreshments. 

We got creative this month with an instructor-led Adult Art Workshop where we learned to make mindful mandalas on wood and Adult Paint Night where we painted colorful summer landscapes. Paint a Colorful Summer Landscape. We also enjoyed our librarian-led Tiny Art Show, where participants painted on tiny canvases which were then displayed in the Library’s Common Area and voted on, and our drop-in Crafternoon. 

Adults enjoyed a Jane Austen Tea Party, where they were able to discuss Jane Austen’s novels over tea and other refreshments while also enjoying ballroom dancing. 

This month our book club met to discuss their monthly title selection. Adults enjoyed Bookish Vibes Book Club and Author Visit with Kristina McMorris, Let’s Talk About Books, Thrilling Tales, Crime Time, and Cookbook Club! 

Those looking to beat the heat enjoyed our Tuesday Night Movie (“Black Bag”), Saturday Matinee (“Dog Man”), and Friday Matinee (“Hard Truths”) film screenings in the Library’s program room.
