July Adult Programming Wrap Up

Summer programming is in full swing here at the Livingston Public Library. Here is a quick recap of the wonderful events that took place this month!

Adult Summer Reading was in full swing this month! Participants earned a raffle ticket for every item checked out. Summer reading runs until 8/4, where 2 grand prize winners will win new Kindles!  As part of the 2023 summer reading theme “All Together Now!” adults participated in our Community Journal Project, continuing the story inside the journals located at the reference desk. This project will run until 8/4.

We love summer adult crafts! This month we enjoyed our librarian-led Crafterwork, our drop-in Crafternoon, our Summer Threads cross-stitch series, an instructor-led Adult Art Workshop: Decoupage Birdhouse craft, and Adult Paint Night: Create a Summer Floral Acrylic Painting.

Those looking to give back to the community participated in our Livi Cares: Adult Volunteer Club where we made pet blankets for Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and wrote letters to be sent to Seniors in need through the organization Letters Against Isolation.

We enjoyed games this month as well! Patrons brought their best game face and friendly competition to our monthly drop-in Adult Gaming and our bi-monthly all ages Bingo Night.

Our lectures this month centered around exploring the world and bettering ourselves. We enjoyed the lectures See the World: Less Money, More Travel, The Human Design Workshop, and Finding Myself: An Introduction to Ayurveda

We also hosted a fun all ages Music Matters Summer Concert where Vera and the Force performed.

Those looking to enjoy a cool movie on a hot summer day enjoyed our Weekends with the Oscars, where we showed oscar-winning films in the Library’s program room.

Of course we also met with our book clubs! This month we enjoyed our Cookbook Club, Thrilling Tales, Let’s Talk About Books, Crime Time, and Bookish Vibes book club and author visit with William Kent Krueger.

Be sure to visit our events calendar to save the date for all of the wonderful events we have planned in August.

We hope to see you at the Library soon!
