Born and raised in Portugal, Ivone, a longtime Livingston resident, developed a fascinating interest for colors, patterns, and textures at a really young age. Later, in High School she discovered a passion for drawing, shapes, and shading, as well a growing interest for contemporary and modern art. Marriage, raising kids and full time working as a teacher, left her little time to express herself artistically.
Fourteen years ago, she discovered a watercolor school which she immediately joined. Watercolor is now her main point of interest including still life, seascapes, landscapes and floral themes, that are being exhibited here.
Ivone has participated in several exhibitions, individual and collective, and is a member of the Essex Watercolor Club (New Jersey’s oldest watercolor organization). This club participates in meetings, workshops, art excursions and exhibitions.
Says Ivone, “To read, paint, entertain and travel are major passions in my life. I love to share colors and shapes, and have the viewers enjoy and find new points of beauty!”
