Help for Seniors

Help for Seniors

As always, we are trying to provide our Senior population with as much up-to-date and helpful information that we can. Below are some resources that can be of assistance during this trying time.

Emotional Support Information

If you need emotional support or are feeling anxiety or worry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can call the NJ Mental Health Cares number at 1-866-202-HELP (4357). It is staffed with a live mental health specialist, seven days a week, from 8 am-8 pm.

Transportation

SYLS continues to offer Senior Transportation for Grocery Shopping and Doctor’s appointments, in collaboration with Essex County Transportation. Contact them at 973-737-7200.

Grocery Services

Volunteer Food Shopping for Seniors is available, please contact Social Worker, Ana Karen Millan in the Livingston Health Department 973-535-7961 ext. 231 or email AMillan@livingstonnj.org and she will pair you with a volunteer.
