Explore the Livingston Public Library’s Local History Collection!

local history open house

Did you know that the Livingston Public Library has a large local history collection? This collection is located in the Library’s local history room as well as on the Library’s website.

We are pleased  to announce an expansion of our digitized local history collection, which now houses Livingston High School Yearbooks digitized from 1957 – 2022!

Other recently digitized items include oral history recordings which were previously on cassette and VHS recordings of local interest including videos such as “Library Card, Library Card!” which features a tour of the Livingston Public Library from the 1970s, “Livingston: A Family Tradition” from 1992, and more!

If you are interested in exploring the Library’s physical and digital local history collections, we  invite you to  join us for a Local History Room Open House on Tuesday, November 6th from 2pm – 3pm and December 5th from 7pm to 8pm.

During this event, you are invited to drop-in to the Library’s Local History Room for a quick tour and overview of the Library’s print and digital resources (including newly organized archived photos!) Staff will also be present to answer questions.

This project is supported by funds from LibraryLinkNJ as part of the Level Up Your Library mini-grant program. LibraryLinkNJ and its services are funded by the New Jersey State Library.
