Celebrating Women’s History Month in Youth Services

March is Women’s History Month, and we are honoring the generations of women and girls who have transformed the world through their actions and words. Visit the floating display shelf in the New Books area to find biographies, non-fiction, poetry, picture books, and more! Here are a few of our favorites:

Shaped By Her Hands: Potter Maria Martinez, by Anna Harber Freeman & Barbara Gonzales

Rad American Women A – Z, by Kate Schatz

Finish the Fight!: The Brave and Revolutionary Women Who Fought for the Right to Vote, by the Staff of the New York Times

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrant Women Who Changed the World, ed. by Pam Gruber

Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer, by Traci Sorell

She Raised Her Voice!: 50 Black Women Who Sang Their Way Into Music History, by Jordannah Elizabeth

A Voice for the Everglades: Marjory Stoneman Douglas, by Vicki Conrad

Happy Reading!
