Celebrate Earth Day All Month Long at the LPL

“The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry

Livingston Library Community,

Earth Day is Thursday, April 22nd. To celebrate we have some wonderful environmental programs planned to help educate our community on both the wonders and the health of the planet we all call home.

If you’re looking to learn more about the beauty of the earth and the environment, join the Livingston Public Library on Wednesday, April 7th at 11am for a presentation on Dark Beauties For Your Garden, where garden historian, Lesly Parness will be showing us how we can use black hued plants for maximum impact within our gardens.

If you’re looking to get out and explore nature, our 7pm lecture on Monday, April 26th is perfect for you! Join us as we explore the Garden Gems of the Garden State in a photographic tour of selected gardens and arboretums in New Jersey, as presented by Master Gardener Mary Jo Sichak.

During our 11am lecture on Wednesday, April 14th, you can learn how to cut down on waste during  Be a Friend to the Earth: Reduce Food Waste at Home. In collaboration with The Department of Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS), a part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, we’ll learn simple ways in which we can reduce our food waste created at home everyday.

These events will take place virtually on Zoom. Registration is required and can be done so on the Library’s event calendar, here. An email with information on how to access the Zoo event will be emailed to you the day before the program is to take place.

Best,

Amy Babcock
