Binge-Laugh with These Edgy (and Streamable) Comedies

If you’ll be stuck inside for a while, and want to watch some edgy comedies to help take the edge off these tense times, here are some series you can currently stream for free on Hoopla with your Livingston Library card.

Absolutely Fabulous
This BBC series follows the debaucherous misadventures of Edina (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley), two friends stumbling after youth and glamour through London’s fashion scene.

AngieTribecaAngie Tribeca
In the tradition of Police Squad! and The Naked Gun, this sharply absurd cop show spoof was co-created by Steve & Nancy Carell, and stars Parks and Recreation‘s Rashida Jones.

Beavis and Butt-head
This satire of 1990s adolescent idiocy from Mike Judge (King of the Hill, Silicon Valley) is far smarter than its titular two stooges, and is still as hilarious today as it was over 25 years ago.

Chappelle’s Show
Not many stand-up comedians are as edgy as Dave Chappelle, and his early-2000s show set a standard for sketch comedy that few others have met since.

Inside Amy Schumer
With risqué style and a boldly feminist perspective, comedian Amy Schumer doesn’t just skewer social issues through her show’s sketches; she also interviews people from various walks of life to explore taboo subjects with sincere curiosity.

KeyAndPeeleKey & Peele
Before Jordan Peele became an Oscar-winning filmmaker, he and Keegan Michael Key teamed up in this sketch comedy series that tackles topics from pop culture to politics to race relations in the 2010s.

Rick and Morty
Mind-bending science fiction collides with deep, dark humor in this animated series from Justin Roiland and Community creator Dan Harmon.

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast
This frenetically surreal subversion of late-night talk shows is hosted by a 1960s cartoon character, and welcomes guests like “Weird Al” Yankovic and Dr. Timothy Leary.
