We Had Fun at the Cherry Blossom Storytime & Craft

Cherry Blossom Storytime and Craft sponsored by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library, Livingston Public Library community connection compassion creativity with an image of a branch of cherry tree blossoms

Since we couldn’t sit on the children’s terrace under our blossoming cherry tree, we “brought” the tree into the program room by displaying a photo of it on the projection screen.  Children and their adults enjoyed the image of the beautiful pink petals while listening to When the Sakura Bloom about the Sakura, or cherry blossoms, Festival in Japan;  Tisha and the Blossoms,  which showed the importance of taking time to slow down ; and Bears and Blossoms about a group of bears’ adventure when they picnic under the blossoms. After the stories, the children worked with their adults to create their own cherry blossom picture to take home. -Amanda Winter, Youth Services
