Summer Fun with Chalk Art on the Terrace

Children and their families expressed their creativity at our Chalk Drawing on the Terrace Event last weekend.  Families worked together drawing everything from rainbows and Hello Kitty to butterflies and backhoes.  One mother encouraged her child’s imagination while reinforcing shape recognition as they drew a triangle and different color circles to create an ice cream cone.  Then they picked a flavor for each color.  Yum!  Another child drew a maze which led to a house with a birthday cake.  As they left the event, families stopped by our display of drawing books and picture books to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who joined us on such a beautiful Saturday morning! –Amanda Winter, Youth Services Librarian
