Message From the Director: Beyond the Books Awaits Our Library of Things

“The library is an arena of possibility, opening both a window into the soul and a door onto the world.” – Rita Dove, Former U.S. Poet Laureate  Livingston Library Community,  Public libraries are diverse spaces that not only foster a love of learning through print and digital materials, but also through the exploration of hobbies and activities.  Here at the Livingston Public Library we are so much more than just books, and that’s why we are extremely excited to announce that many of the items from the Livingston Public Library’s Library of Things are available for you to reserve and borrow once again.   Items currently available to borrow from the Library of Things include: Chromebooks Telescopes Arduino Raspberry Pi Birdwatching Kits Coloring Kits Electricity Usage Monitors Mobile Hotspots ROKUs with Netflix and Disney+ including Mulan!  To view the complete catalog of items available from the Livingston Public Library’s Library of Things and place reserves of specific items, visit the Library’s website, here.  As with print and media material being returned, all returned items from the Library of Things will be quarantined for 72 hours.  However, items from the Library of Things must be returned to the Circulation Desk inside the library and are still subject to overdue fines if not returned on time.  For more information on the borrowing and return procedure for items from the Library of Things, please visit the Library’s website.  Amy, Director
