Message From the Director: Senior Happening is Happening!

“Pack up your troubles and just get happy. Chase all your cares away.” – Ted Koehler  Livingston Library Community, The Livingston Public Library Senior Happening is a monthly event that has been taking place for over 20 years.  During past Senior Happenings, members of our senior community would enjoy socialization and a sweet treat followed by live entertainment.  Senior Happening always drew a lively crowd, and we all miss it dearly. That’s why I am super excited to announce June’s Senior Happening will be taking place, this time virtually on Friday, June 19 at 1:00 PM. At our virtual Senior Happening, Fred Miller will be performing “They Wrote the Words: Part 1,” a performance celebrating a number of high-caliber lyricists such as Oscar Hammerstein II, Lorenz Hart, Ira Gershwin, Dorothy Fields, Alan Jay Lerner or Johnny Mercer. This first installment honoring and examining some great, lesser-known wordsmiths includes brief portraits and the best songs of Otto Harbach, Ted Koehler, Leo Robin and Arthur Freed. To register for and enjoy our June Senior Happening, please navigate to: and click on “save my spot.”   This program is made possible by funds from the Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Stay in touch, stay safe. ~Amy
